🎵About the Wairarapa Youth Orchestra? 🎵

WYO is a community-based youth orchestra for young musicians aged 7 to 18 in the Wairarapa region. It was founded in 2021. The orchestra aims to provide a fun and supportive environment for tamariki and rangatahi to learn and enjoy playing music in an orchestra setting. Our tutors have a wealth of experience in the music industry in NZ and abroad. Each term we perform a musical concert in the Wairarapa to give our students the opportunity to shine in front of their community.

 🎵Who Can Join?🎵

The Wairarapa Youth Orchestra is a non-auditioning orchestra and welcomes youth musicians who play orchestral instruments to join our free programme. Visit our Join page to learn more.

 🎵Learning an Instrument?🎵

The Wairarapa Youth Orchestra also has a small number of partial scholarships available each year for a variety of orchestral instruments; violin, cello, double bass, flute, trombone, French horn and clarinet. Please contact us via our contact form to enquire about scholarship availability.
